Our Business Philosophy

The objective of our business is twofold: to provide a good quality solution to your design problem, and to provide continuing support for any product in which it is incorporated.

The road to a good quality design solution starts with defining exactly what is required. We are used to working to ISO 9000 procedures. We like it if you give us a specification, (If this is not possible, we will draw up our own for your agreement), but that is not the end of our diligence. Our experienced engineers like to have an appreciation of how the design may be used so that we may identify any unforeseen issues. A little extra work at the problem defining stage often avoids a lot of expensive rework later on.

Good quality design support is essential to any profitable manufacturing concern. Your need for external help may not end when the the product leaves the factory. Key components may eventually go obsolete. You may have issues with component reliability that need to be resolved. Changing markets may lead to a need to modify or produce variants of the initial design. In any or all of these cases, we are here to help. Even if you do not want or need to return to us for this support, our comprehensive design documentation package ensures that you will have enough information to pass these tasks on to your own design team or another subcontractor.

Company History

Shippun Solutions has been trading since November 2003 and has completed a number of succesful projects since then. Initially, it was intended that the company would provide a service designing electronic circuitry to custimer requirements on a rate per quoted hour basis. However it soon became clear that some design projects involved more than a little element of "invention". For these projects, a deal was negotiated where all the design work, production engineering and product support was carried out for free; in return for a percentage of the ex-factory price for the finished product. These projects have been most succesful both for us and our customers.

For the more conventional work where we design to specification, Customer satisfaction can be judged from the fact that a lot of our work comes from returning cutomers.

Our Skills

Our staff have experience in the following areas:

Electronic hardware design using discrete analogue components, dedicated digital logic (including ECL), Programmable logic and microcontrollers.

Specific design experience in the areas of digital telecommunications, optical disc drives, test equipment design, SMPS design and servo control.

Mechanical design for electronics (e.g. enclosures)

The draughting of mechanical drawing using Autocad or Solidworks.

In addition, we have close relationship with subcontractors who have expertise in the following areas:

Software design for microcontrollers, microprocessors and PCs.

Design of engine components and hydraulic equipment.
